Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators recognized the company’s top producing Service Professionals, Carpenters and Customer Care Specialists for outstanding sales and service efforts which earned them with the honor of Pinnacle Club 2008 membership. Eighty-five qualifying employees and their guests were invited to attend the Pinnacle Club awards banquet and spend a relaxing weekend at Florida’s premiere resort destination, Amelia Island Plantation. Thirty-six of the attendees also went Beyond the Call to achieve Arrow Exterminator’s elite Chairman’s Club status. ARROW EXTERMINATORS SETS NEW RECORD WITH LATEST ACQUISITION IN FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA The Acquisitions Team of Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators, led by Senior V.P. Kevin Burns, achieved a company milestone with their sixth acquisition in the past eight months. The recent acquisition of A Action Exterminators, Inc. in Fort Walton Beach Florida brings to fruition Arrow’s twenty year search for superior pest control companies in their top three most desired markets; St. Simons Island Georgia, Jacksonville Florida and the Panhandle of Florida. This is Arrow’s 92nd acquisition since 1989 and the second in Florida this year!! Since opening its doors in 1975, A Action Exterminators has provided superior termite and pest control services to 4000 customers in Okaloosa, Escambia, Santa Rosa, Bay and Walton Counties. Company President and co-owner Justin Warner knew, upon meeting with Arrow’s Acquisitions Team, he had found a perfect fit. He recognized that his company, customers and their employees would be treated by Arrow with the same level of service, professionalism and respect to which they had become accustomed. Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators had reason to celebrate during their annual mid-year Manager’s Meeting, held recently at the beautiful Amelia Island Plantation in Florida. The past 12 months represented another growth year for Arrow, both internally and through diligent acquisitions efforts. Arrow grew top-line revenue in excess of seven percent for their fiscal year, a remarkable accomplishment given the market conditions and housing slump. The company’s Mergers & Acquisitions team was very successful during the first half of this fiscal year, including integrating three companies in Georgia and two in Florida. The company also opened six new service centers and added seven members to its management team. “Our annual meeting is an excellent time to celebrate our successes as well as to inspire and strengthen our leadership team,” stated Joe Thomas, Arrow’s CEO. “Arrow’s continued success is the result of the commitment, drive and innovation of our entire team,” he added. Company founders Gene and Joyce McKendree, who retired in 2000 after a flourishing career, sold the company to their daughter and son-in-law Teri and Phil Davis. Teri began her pest management career in 1984 while working along side her parents and after taking over the reigns in 2000, continued the company’s growth which now services 2700 customers throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators, Inc. announces the acquisition of Boca Raton Pest Control in Boca Raton, FL. Boca Raton Pest Control, which has been in operation since 1968, services over 3000 residential and commercial customers in Palm Beach and Broward counties with annual revenues of $1,150,000. Former Boca Raton Pest Control owners and co-founders George and Judi Nicklin have retired after 47 successful years in the pest control industry. The additional 12 outstanding employees, along with the company’s customers, will merge into Arrow’s existing Boca Raton office which is managed by George Braker. This will make Arrow’s Boca Raton operation in excess of $3.5 million in revenue. This is the only casino resort in the world to gain both the Mobil five star, AAA five diamond accolades. Arrow’s invited attendees enjoyed a weekend of first class, superlative service. The weekend activities began with a poolside reception where invited guests celebrated their achievements with their peers, V.P.’s and Arrow’s executive management team. Prior to joining Arrow, Charlie worked in the pest control business as a branch manager in Macon, GA before being promoted to corporate sales manager. As a certified instructor of Integrity Selling, Charlie will be incorporating these skills into his sales training. Charlie is an Auburn graduate and brother of Shay Runion, Arrow’s Director of Sentricon Quality Assurance. Arrow Exterminators, Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of its’ new Dalton branch office in North Georgia. The branch will be managed by Debra Stutz, a 5-year Arrow veteran who was formally the Service Manager at Arrow’s Chattanooga, Tennessee branch. Arrow recently acquired the assets of the Dalton office of HomeTeam Pest Defense in exchange for the assets of Arrow Exterminators’ Las Vegas office. The Dalton office will open with revenues of approximately $700,000 and represents Arrow Exterminators’ 41st office in the state of Georgia. Arrow Exterminators’ CEO Joe Thomas said, “We have been looking for the right opportunity to complete our service area coverage of the I-75 corridor from Atlanta to Tennessee. This unique opportunity presented itself after a conversation with HomeTeam at a recent NPMA conference. On Saturday December 9, 2006, The Starkey Thomas National Training Center (named for company founder James Stark Thomas, Sr.) hosted its first training seminar. Speakers from Syngenta, Bayer Environmental Services, BASF, Whitmire Micro-Gen and Arrow’s Training Department conducted the classes. Over 100 employees attended this 6 hour training event. Arrow’s Executive team of C.E.O. Joe Thomas, C.O.O. Emily Thomas and Sr. Executive VP Raymond Crim attended this monumental event in Arrow’s history. “Our goal has been to continually improve our professional standards, knowledge, and efficiency to assure customer satisfaction and superior service” commented Arrow’s COO Emily Thomas. “This was a great training event and there will be many more to come in the future,” she added.
Bell joined Arrow Exterminators in 1988 as a branch manager and during his tenure with the company has held a variety of positions. Bell was promoted to Director of Quality Control in 1994, to Vice President of Technical Services in 2000 before assuming this new position. Arrow Exterminators Inc. has acquired Viking Pest Control of Phoenix, Arizona. This is the third acquisition for Arrow Exterminators this year and the 74th since 1988. Viking becomes the company’s third acquisition in the state of Arizona. Viking Pest Control has provided termite and pest control services for customers in the Phoenix area since 1995. Viking will partner with Arrow’s anchor company for the state of Arizona, Casey’s Exterminators, which is also located in Phoenix. The Viking operation will move into the recently expanded Casey’s location. “Viking’s focus on residential pest control blends well with our Casey’s operation, which is also predominately residential pest and termite control,” said Joey Edwards, corporate vice president for Arrow. “This addition establishes Casey’s as one of the premier pest control operations in Phoenix and surrounding market areas. We will provide a full complement of services including pest, termite and mosquito service.” Richard Hagen, previous Viking owner, will continue in a consulting role. “Richard has established a fine business in Phoenix and we consider ourselves fortunate to have it now as part of the Arrow family. Attack! has provided termite control, pest control and lawn care to customers since 1984. Attack! will merge with the parent company’s Top Notch Pest Control operation which also is located in Naples. The new partnership will be based out of the current Attack! facility. Stephen Meyerhoeffer, previous owner, will continue in a consulting role, and his eight member staff will continue as well. Bell, Arrow Exterminators’ vice president of technical services, is a past president of the Georgia Pest Control Association (GPCA) and has held many roles for the Association. Bell is the current Chairman of the Government and Legislative Affairs Committee for the GPCA. Additionally, he is the past president and member of the Greater Atlanta Pest Control Association, has been an at-large board member for the National Pest Management Association, and an acting board member for the Professional Pest Management Alliance. He received the “Leadership Award” from Pest Control Technology in 2003 and chaired the Quality Pro Technical Committee in 2004. Bell joined Arrow Exterminators in 1988 as a branch manager. In 1994, he was promoted to director of quality control, a position he held until he was named to his current position in 2000. “I’m honored the Commissioner has selected me to serve the citizens of Georgia”, said Bell. “I certainly have big shoes to fill in succeeding Tom but plan to continue the level of service to the Commission, the State of Georgia and the pest management industry that Tom has delivered throughout his distinguished career”. Arrow Exterminators, Inc. announces the acquisition of Sterling Pest Management with offices in Dallas and Arlington, Texas. Larry Novy, one of the former owners of Sterling, will stay on as the manager of Arrow’s first operation in Texas. This is the second acquisition for Arrow in the southern region of Georgia this year and the 84th since 1988. Allen Termite & Pest Control was started in 1958 by Mr. Adie Allen who later handed over the day to day operations to his son Henry. After a successful career servicing 1800 satisfied customers, Henry decided to retire and subsequently sold the family business to Arrow. Arrow is excited and proud to add the former Allen employees to its growing family of pest control professionals.
Arrow Exterminators is pleased to announce the recent addition of Charlie Jones as Regional Sales Manager to their powerful sales force. Charlie will assist with the sales efforts in Georgia and Florida as well as Charlotte, North Carolina. To continue increasing Arrow’s impact sales, Charlie’s main responsibility will be to work with the company’s outside sales inspectors.
Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators honored their top-selling Service Technicians with a fun filled weekend trip to beautiful Sandestin, FL. The fifty Service Technicians who qualified for this inaugural event, along with their invited guests, were treated to a relaxing weekend in which they mingled with their peers and enjoyed some free time in this gorgeous destination spot. The festivities began with a reception at The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa overlooking the beautiful white sandy beach and continued with golf and other recreational activities. The trip concluded with a spectacular sunset dinner cruise in which awards were presented to these deserving participants.
Arrow Exterminators, Inc. is proud to partner with Acworth Elementary on the school’s fundraiser “No Mosquitoes – No Malaria, Just Nets”. The fundraising efforts are part of the United Nations Foundation “Nothing But Nets” campaign to raise money for African children losing their lives to malaria, a mosquito spreading disease. All monies will be used to purchase over 1,000 specially treated mosquito nets which, when hung over children’s beds, creates a protective barrier against mosquitoes. For two months, Acworth Elementary students collected funds through various school sponsored events and earlier this month Arrow Exterminators presented the school with a check to help them reach their goal.
Arrow Exterminators, Inc. is delighted to announce the acquisition of T. Y. Gibson Pest Control in Macon, Georgia. Robert Grizzard, the former managing partner who ran the day-to-day operations will stay with Arrow and will manage the Macon branch office. All former T.Y. Gibson employees will join the Arrow organization. T.Y. Gibson Pest Control was started in 1945 by T.Y. and Marian Gibson and sold the company to Wendell Burton in the mid 1980’s. Chad and Tracy Burton subsequently purchased the company and grew it to service 3500 customers. T.Y. Gibson is the oldest pest control company in Macon and will join Arrow to become the largest pest control company in central Georgia, with more than 60 employees comprising the collective company.
During their annual Manager’s meeting in February, Arrow Exterminators recognized the promotions of seven members of its’ Executive Committee. These seven individuals on Arrow’s senior Management Team have invaluable industry experience and their contributions are significant to the company’s growth and success. Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators prepared for the upcoming spring season with their annual Manager’s Meeting, this year held in sunny Delray Beach, FL. Over one hundred passionate and energetic managers and corporate staff attended the 2 ½ day meeting. “In this fast paced, rapidly growing industry, our goal this past week was to empower, motivate and strengthen our leadership team,” commented Joe Thomas, CEO.
For years, it has been the goal of Arrow Exterminators, Inc. to open a National Training Center which would accommodate large groups for training purposes. Arrow’s objective was achieved when they purchased a building on Highway 92 in Woodstock, GA. The Woodstock facility consists of an old stone veneer home (which houses Arrow’s Woodstock branch office) and a newer commercial structure attached to it. Arrow’s Technical Services Department, New Construction Division and the Woodstock Wildlife Service Center are located in the larger space along with the training facility, totaling approximately 15,000 square feet.
Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators is proud to announce the promotion of Rick Bell to the newly created position of Vice-President of Governmental Affairs & Technical Services. In this role Bell will be responsible for local, state and national Government Relations, Regulatory Compliance and Industry Stewardship. Spencer will assist Richard Bell, Vice President of Training and Technical Services, and others in the department in the development and implementation of new-hire technical training and service protocols. Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators has opened a main office in Tucker, Ga. for its commercial pest control division. The office will be responsible for sales and service in north Georgia and surrounding areas and will support the commercial activities performed throughout the company’s branch network. ATLANTA, GA --- With 40 of its finest employees on the job as balloon handlers, Arrow Exterminators successfully navigated a 100-foot long helium-filled snail down Peachtree Street in the 23rd Annual Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta ® Christmas Parade. “This is our fifth year as a contributing sponsor and our employee-volunteers get a real kick out of being in the parade,” said Joe Thomas, CEO of Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators. “It’s a wonderful cause and a great way to catch the spirit of the season.”
